- Audi Q7: Now ₹86.14 lakh (cheaper by ₹6.15 lakh).
- Audi Q5: Now ₹63.75 lakh (reduced by ₹4.55 lakh).
- Audi Q3: Now ₹43.07 lakh (savings of ₹3.07 lakh).
- Audi A6: Now ₹63.74 lakh (down by ₹3.64 lakh).
- Audi A4: Now ₹46.25 lakh (cheaper by ₹2.64 lakh).
These revisions are expected to strengthen Audi’s SUV portfolio, which already drives the bulk of its sales in India.
Why GST 2.0 Matters
The government’s new GST 2.0 policy has simplified taxation for cars by setting a flat 40% GST rate on vehicles longer than 4 metres or with engines above 1,500cc. While this looks higher than the old 28% slab, the removal of the compensation cess (which earlier went up to 22%) has actually lowered the overall tax burden.
The result? Prices of premium and luxury cars have dropped by 8–10%, giving brands like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz a chance to make their cars more appealing to Indian buyers.
