More than 94,000 Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru cars are being recalled in the U.S. due to a major issue with their heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), some models from 2023 to 2025 may have faulty electrical compressors that can cause the defroster or defogger to stop working — a problem that could increase the risk of accidents.
The fix? A simple HVAC software update, and in some cases, a replacement of the compressor.

In total, about 94,000 vehicles are impacted.
